RAI Safety Certificate for Modul-System

-

After several months of preparation, the IAA 2012 in Hanover saw the official green-lighting of the Safety Certificate for Service Vehicles project. This groundbreaking initiative, under the auspices of the RAI Association, aims to make mobile workplaces safer. A number of member manufacturers have been authorised to issue certificates starting on 1 October.

In the months since the project's launch at the BedrijfsAutoRAI 2012, the RAI Association has laid the foundations for the introduction of the Safety Certificate for Service Vehicle Interiors. One of the spearheads was the extensive study and assessment of the results of crash tests conducted by the participating manufacturers.

Yesterday at the IAA 2012, at the RAI Association stand, the Safety Certificate for Service
Vehicle Interiors was officially launched. This initiative, under the auspices of the RAI Association, ensures the vehicle owner and the service vehicle driver a mobile workplace that meets the highest safety standards.

The industry has received the initiative with open arms as it is in line with the role that modern day society expects of entrepreneurs: taking responsibility for staff and fellow humans.

“The official kick-off of the Safety Certificate for Service Vehicle Interiors is a special
moment. Competing manufacturers of service vehicle interiors have joined forces to
make a collective contribution to road safety and safety at work. It is not by chance
that the IAA was chosen for the official launch. We hope that other countries will
soon follow in the footsteps of this Dutch initiative", said Rob van Duijnen, Chairman
of the RAI Association's Service Vehicle Interiors Committee.
